Scheduled
Revenera conducts periodic failover tests of the entire FlexNet Operations service running our Primary Data center location to our Disaster Recovery (DR) data center site in Illinois. We will be performing failover tests beginning Sunday, December 5th at 8 AM PST until 12PM PST. FlexNet application services operating within the Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure will be impacted during this exercise.

The following scenarios indicate where your service could be impacted during the fail over period:

• If you have outbound firewall rules in place that limit outbound access to IP addresses or networks associated with any FlexNet Operations Cloud Service, you must include our DR network block 64.27.162.0/24 in your outbound firewall rules.

• FlexNet Operations may have brief service disruptions on Sunday between 8 AM and 10 AM as each service fails over to our Disaster Recovery facility and again on Sunday between 10 AM and 12 PM as they are failed back to our primary facility.

• During the failover on Sunday between 8 AM and 10 AM, FlexNet application services operating within the Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure such as Updates and Insights (UAI), Data API, Auth Services and Registry Services will be unavailable.

• To facilitate the failover exercise, Revenera will be changing the associated DNS records to utilize the Disaster Recovery site. If your applications currently use custom or third-party applications to interact with our service, and those applications cache DNS records longer than normal TTL settings, those applications may no longer be able to connect to the service after the failover has been executed. A simple restart of your application(s) or application server(s) should resolve this issue.

• FlexNet Operations Cloud Electronic Software Delivery (ESD) customers who add new files to the upload site (upload.flexnetoperations.com) without loading them into the application prior to the start of the failover will need to re-upload them after the failover is complete. Any files already loaded to production will function normally during the time we are running in the Disaster Recovery site.

Our SRE and Engineering departments have a detailed plan to perform the failover activities. If any issues are encountered, we also have a roll-back plan to switch back to our primary datacenter quickly. If you notice any issues during the failover period or after we have switched back to production, please let us know immediately through your normal channels of communication with Revenera.
